Job Description

Job Purpose

To ensure that all company operations, processes, and products comply with international standards, legal requirements, and sustainability principles. This role integrates compliance management with certification and traceability oversight to strengthen the companys commitment to quality, ethical sourcing, and transparent operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Certification & Audit Management

  • Manage and maintain all certifications, including GOTS, OEKO-TEX, GRS, BCI, CMIA, RCS, OCS, SEDEX, SA8000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, SRCCS, RegenAg, Higg, and ZDHC.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits (customer, brand-nominated, third-party, and voluntary).
  • Prepare, conduct, and follow up on audits with appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Liaise with certification bodies and ensure timely renewals.

2. Traceability System Implementation

  • Develop and maintain digital traceability systems for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Ensure all materials and processes are documented, verified, and traceable.
  • Conduct regular checks and internal audits to maintain data integrity.

3. Regulatory & Legal Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, environmental regulations, and health & safety standards.
  • Stay updated on changing industry and legal requirements; implement necessary updates to company policies.
  • Maintain and submit records required by government and regulatory bodies.

4. Vendor & Supply Chain Compliance

  • Conduct supplier assessments to verify compliance with ethical, environmental, and certification requirements.
  • Collaborate with sourcing, quality, and production teams to ensure certified and traceable materials.
  • Guide and support vendors to achieve compliance with sustainability standards.

5. Policy Implementation & Training

  • Develop and implement internal compliance policies, SOPs, and traceability procedures.
  • Organize training and awareness programs for employees and vendors on compliance and certification standards.
  • Foster a culture of quality, safety, and sustainability across departments.

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain centralized documentation for certifications, audits, and traceability.
  • Prepare regular reports for management review and customer requirements.
  • Track non-conformities, audit findings, and monitor corrective actions.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    Bachelor’s or Master’s in Textile Technology, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience:

    5–10 years in compliance, certification, or sustainability roles within the textile or apparel industry.
  • Proven experience managing certifications such as GOTS, OEKO-TEX, GRS, BCI, SEDEX, SA8000, ISO, and ZDHC.
  • Knowledge of ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) and sustainability frameworks preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of textile manufacturing and certification processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian and international compliance regulations.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and compliance/traceability management software.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and training capabilities.
