Role Overview: As a Commodity Specialist at Rohrback Cosasco Systems (COSASCO), your main responsibility will be to oversee the transition of the supply base for machined parts to a Low-Cost Country (India) while ensuring critical specifications and secondary processes are met. Your role will involve close coordination with various stakeholders, supplier management, and a strong focus on timely product delivery to support manufacturing and production operations. Key Responsibilities: - Source, evaluate, and procure products for manufacturing, aligning with organizational goals and flow down requirements for material, handling, and processing. - Develop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets. - Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews to enhance reliability and mitigate risks. - Negotiate contracts, pricing, and long-term agreements with suppliers to ensure favorable terms. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Engineering and Quality to validate product specifications. - Lead commodity transitions to new suppliers while maintaining balanced inventory levels to avoid disruptions. - Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business goals and market trends. - Maintain a database of key commodities and suppliers to optimize sourcing strategies. - Ensure technical specifications and reliability requirements are met by collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams. - Stay updated on metal types, properties, applications, global market dynamics, industry developments, and regulatory changes impacting procurement activities to make informed decisions. - May require up to 25% travel and on-site visits to local (India-Based) vendors. Qualification Required: - Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; a master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) is preferred. - Background in mechanical engineering is advantageous.
