Come join our team and help us build a better tomorrow. Commodity buyer is a member of sub-commodity team(s) defining the sourcing strategy for the given sub-commodity. You drive QSCCF (Quality, Sustainability, Capacity, Cost, and Features) targets at the sub-commodity level with its supplier base and support optimum Early Supplier Involvement to deliver optimum common global technical solutions along with product and projects expectations. Competencies required for the role include: - Strategic - Self-development and develop others - Continuous improvement - Collaboration and Communication - Digitalization - Supplier relationship management - Integrating sustainability Specific qualifications and experience needed are: - Proven experience in sourcing for an international group - Deep understanding of sourcing strategy process and a holistic view of sub-commodity issues - Clear understanding and vision of current supply base evolution and supplier market trends, preferably on Heavy/Medium Fabrication, Castings, Forgings, and Machined parts - Required technical skills to support the combined Purchasing and Technology strategy - Proven capabilities in negotiation - Ability to manage a whole sub-commodity independently - Creative attitude, energetic, and achievement-driven - Fluent in English Educational Qualification & Experience required: - Minimum of a 15-year Engineering degree (Mechanical/Production) - 7-10 years work experience in a Buyer Role - Working experience in Automotive/Construction Equipment industry in managing supplier relationships and driving continuous improvement programs - Proven process knowledge in manufacturing disciplines like Heavy/Medium Fabrication, Castings, Forgings, Machining, etc. - Hands-on work experience in Zero-based costing - Proven knowledge within Advanced Product Quality Planning - Product Development knowledge - Effective project management capabilities - Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and influence others - Strong communication skills in English, additional language skills are a plus Responsibilities of the role include: - Serving as Supplier Host - Commercial responsibility within Order to Delivery and Product Portfolio Development for Structures & Attachment commodity - Defining the sourcing strategy with the commodity team and stakeholders - Supporting implementation of the sourcing strategy in products and regions - Managing supply base and supplier management strategies - Driving QSCC targets at the sub-commodity level - Negotiating Long Term Agreements and conducting Business Reviews - Collaborating with Sales & Marketing for customer-specific solutions - Supporting sites according to escalation processes - Delivering NPD activities meeting QSCC objectives - Working in accordance with Volvo CE processes, the Volvo Way, Volvo Philosophy & values Authorities for the role include: - Own strategy development and deployment plan - Deciding supplier selection in agreement with key stakeholders - Negotiating all main supplier contracts - Approving supplier price list for given sub-commodities,
