Job Description

Position Summary: Commis 1 is responsible for assisting chefs in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes, maintaining high quality and consistency. They supervise junior commis and ensure smooth kitchen operations in their section. Key Responsibilities: Prepare, cook, and present dishes within your section according to standard recipes. Supervise and train Commis 2 and 3 in daily operations. Ensure all food is prepared and stored following food safety and hygiene standards. Assist in menu planning, portion control, and cost management. Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and work area. Support in mise en place preparation and ensure readiness before service. Follow the instructions of the Chef de Partie and ensure smooth section operation during service.
