Job Summary:

The Commis Chef assists in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes in their assigned cuisine section (Indian, Continental, or Chinese) while ensuring the highest standards of hygiene, quality, and consistency. The role evolves from Commis III (entry-level) to Commis I (advanced support), gaining experience and responsibility.

Duties & Responsibilities:General Responsibilities (Applicable to Commis I, II, III):

  • Assist in food preparation and cooking under the guidance of senior chefs.
  • Prepare ingredients and mise en place for daily operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation.
  • Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Assist in stock rotation, storage, and inventory control.
  • Follow standard recipes to ensure consistency of dishes.
  • Assist in minimizing wastage and controlling food cost.
  • Maintain a cooperative working environment with all kitchen team members.
