Job Title- Commi 2 (Dim Sum)

Job Location- Malviya Nagar, New Delhi

Job Summary

The Commi 2 (Dim Sum) is responsible for assisting in the preparation and production of traditional and contemporary dim sum dishes under the guidance of the Dim Sum Chef or Demi Chef. The role focuses on ensuring consistent quality, presentation, and flavor while maintaining high standards of hygiene and kitchen organization. The ideal candidate has foundational culinary skills, knowledge of dim sum techniques, and a passion for Asian cuisine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dim sum items such as dumplings, buns, rolls, and pastries.
  • Follow recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines to maintain consistency.
  • Prepare ingredients and mise-en-place for daily operations.
  • Ensure all food items are stored and handled properly according to food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Support the Dim Sum Chef and senior kitchen staff during service.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the workstation and kitchen areas.
  • Assist in receiving, checking, and properly storing food supplies and ingredients.
  • Ensure equipment is used correctly and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
  • Adhere to all hotel or restaurant standard operating procedures and health & safety regulations.
  • Contribute ideas for new dim sum dishes and menu improvements when requested.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a Chinese kitchen or dim sum section, preferably in a hotel or high-volume restaurant.
  • Basic knowledge of dim sum preparation and steaming/frying techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
