Job Summary:

ZOCA Café, Bhiwani is seeking a skilled Commi 1 to join our kitchen team specializing in Indian Curry and Tandoor dishes. The candidate will assist in preparing authentic vegetarian Indian curries and tandoor specialties, ensuring consistent quality and hygiene in a fast-paced multi-cuisine environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of pure vegetarian Indian curries (North and South Indian styles) following standardized recipes.
• Operate the tandoor oven to prepare breads like naan, roti, kulcha, and tandoori vegetarian items such as paneer tikka, veg seekh kebab, and other grilled delicacies.
• Assist the Chef de Partie in maintaining mise-en-place and prepping ingredients (cutting, marinating, grinding masalas).
• Ensure food is cooked and presented according to quality and safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the workstation and kitchen tools.
• Follow food safety guidelines and standard operating procedures strictly.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or spoilage promptly.
• Minimize wastage and contribute to cost-effective kitchen operations.
• Support junior kitchen staff and help maintain smooth kitchen workflow.

Requirements:

• 2–4 years of experience in Indian curry and tandoor preparation, preferably in vegetarian kitchens.
• Knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and tandoor operations.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and food safety.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Physically fit to work in a hot kitchen environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Culinary diploma or certificate in hotel management or culinary arts (preferred).
• Experience in multi-cuisine or pure vegetarian restaurants is an advantage.

Work Schedule:

• Rotational shifts including lunch and dinner service.
• Availability on weekends and public holidays.
