Job Title- Commi 1 (Dim Sum)

Job Location- Malviya Nagar, New Delhi

Job Summary

The Commi 1 (Dim Sum) is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of traditional and contemporary dim sum dishes to high standards. This role involves working closely with the Dim Sum Chef and kitchen team to ensure consistency, quality, and timely service, while maintaining hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and production of a wide range of dim sum items (steamed, fried, baked, etc.).
  • Follow standard recipes and presentation specifications as directed by the Dim Sum Chef.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared with proper ingredients, techniques, and portion control.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation at all times.
  • Support smooth kitchen operations during service hours.
  • Monitor and manage mise en place for assigned sections.
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of ingredients and products.
  • Assist in training and guiding junior staff or kitchen helpers when required.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and maintain a positive working environment.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, food shortages, or quality issues to the senior chef.
  • Contribute to menu development and suggest new dim sum items when requested.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in a Chinese or Asian cuisine restaurant.
  • Proven knowledge of dim sum preparation techniques (steaming, frying, baking, wrapping, etc.).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of food hygieneand safety standards (HACCP knowledge preferred).
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
  • Culinary certification or diploma in food production is an advantage.
  • Passion for Chinese cuisine and continuous learning in culinary arts.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
