Position

Education and Experience

- B.E - Mechanical / Chemical, with MBA in Supply Chain

- 22- 28 years of related experience with Manufacturing Plant (Chemical Industry or Textile industry), including at least 5 years in heading the function.

- Salary Bracket: Dy. Gen. Manager/ Gen. Manager (Up to 38 LPA)

Job Responsibility

Strategic

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for both direct and indirect materials.
  • Analyse market trends and forecasts to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Oversee the procurement process for capital expenditures, including equipment machinery, and facility upgrades.

Direct and Indirect Purchasing:

  • Manage the procurement of raw materials, components, and other direct inputs essential for manufacturing. Ensure timely delivery and quality of materials to support production schedules.
  • Indirect Purchasing: Oversee the capex procurement, goods and services necessary for plant operations, AMCs etc
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and value.

Supplier Quality & Supply Chain Management:

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and negotiate contracts to secure favourable terms.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, cost- effectiveness, and reliability.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to delivery, quality, or pricing.
  • Oversee supplier quality with new product development as per required timelines and processes. Coordinate with logistics providers to manage shipping schedules, track shipments, and resolve any transportation issues. Supply chain operations with major focus to deliver end to end supply chain for manufacturing operations.
  • Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock levels to meet production requirements without overstocking.
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to streamline processes and reduce lead times.

Budget and Cost Control:

  • Prepare and manage the purchasing and logistics budget, ensuring adherence to financial targets.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and drive continuous improvement in procurement and logistics processes.
  • Conduct cost analysis and develop strategies to minimize material and logistics costs while maintaining quality standards.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing and logistics teams to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Set clear goals and objectives for the teams and provide regular feedback and support.

Compliance and Documentation:

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements related to procurement and logistics.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, logistics documentation, and supplier agreements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other departments (e.g., production, quality control, finance) to align procurement and logistics activities with plant operations and production schedules.
  • Address and resolve any procurement or logistics-related issues that may impact production.
  • Conversant in SAP (MM).
