Cobol Architect (Development)

About Position:

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Cobol Architect Development to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Client facing, designing, implementing, and maintaining our software applications. You will be working closely with our team of designers and developers to create high-quality, efficient code that enhances user experience.

What You'll Do:

• Strong programming background in software engineering.
• Strong architecture knows and programming experience in Cobol, AS400 and other mainframe technology stack like DB2, VSAM etc.
• Very strong oral and written communication skills with minimum 5 years’ experience in client-facing role.
• Experience in modernization of mainframe applications to newer techn stacks (Java, .NET, JS, TS etc.)
• Experience in using any of these tools like AWS BluAge, Astadia, Mainframe modernization solutions (google).
• Hands on experience with tools like Cursor, GitHub Copilot and using them for code understanding, code refactoring, modernization, upgrades.

• Beyond technical capabilities, we need to demonstrate strong leadership and strategic acumen to successfully guide transformation projects.

• Strategic thinking:

  Defining technology roadmaps and ensuring modernization initiatives align with broader business goals.

• Communication:

  Communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including IT leadership and business partners.

• Mentorship:

  Providing technical guidance and mentoring to both junior COBOL developers and teams working on modern technologies.

• Problem-solving:

  Troubleshooting complex issues in production environments and devising effective, strategic resolutions.

• Collaboration:

  Working effectively with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, DevOps, and project managers
