CNC Laser Operator

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced CNC Laser Cutting Machine Operator to join our sheet-metal fabrication team. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills, hands-on experience with CNC laser machines, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings with precision.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor CNC laser cutting machines (Fiber / CO₂).
• Set up machines, adjust parameters, and ensure optimal cutting quality.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings, DXF files, job cards, and production plans.
• Select correct material, thickness, and cutting programs.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and basic troubleshooting of the machine.
• Inspect cut parts using measuring instruments (vernier, micrometer, gauges) to ensure accuracy.
• Optimize nesting, material utilization, and minimize wastage.
• Ensure safe work practices and maintain cleanliness around the machine.
• Coordinate with production, design, and quality teams for smooth workflow.
• Maintain logs of machine performance, material consumption, and daily production.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 2–4 years of experience operating CNC laser cutting machines (Trumpf / Amada / Bystronic / other brands preferred).
• Strong understanding of sheet-metal fabrication, cutting parameters, and material behavior (MS/SS/Aluminium).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Knowledge of CNC programming, nesting software (AutoCAD, Metalix, SigmaNest, or similar) is an advantage.
• Good understanding of machine safety protocols.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Basic computer skills for operating machine interface and maintaining reports.
• Physically fit and capable of handling sheet-metal materials safely.

Education

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical or related field preferred.
• Candidates with strong experience but without formal education will also be considered.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in automobile/defence/sheet-metal fabrication industries.
• Exposure to high-precision production environments.

• Competitive and based on experience.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
