Role Overview
As the
Clinical Nutrition & Food Innovation Officer
, you will play a
dual role
— acting as both a
nutrition & healthcare solutions expert
and a
food science innovator
. You will be responsible for
developing functional food concepts, validating them with clinical insights, ensuring compliance, and building healthcare-oriented nutrition solutions
that can be deployed in consumer and institutional settings.You will closely work with the founder and other domain experts to translate
scientific research into innovative, market-ready products
while ensuring health outcomes remain at the core of everything we do.
Key Responsibilities
- Product R&D & Innovation
- Lead the end-to-end development of functional food products (gut health, wellness, disease-specific nutrition).
- Integrate clinical nutrition principles into product formulation, ensuring evidence-backed solutions.
- Collaborate with food technologists, chefs, and healthcare experts for prototyping and testing.
- Healthcare & Nutrition Solutions
- Design nutrition programs and healthcare solutions that complement HGK’s product offerings (for hospitals, gyms, wellness centers).
- Build clinical credibility by creating scientific reports, diet models, and outcome-driven frameworks.
- Work with healthcare professionals (doctors, dietitians, hospitals) to validate product impact.
- Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all formulations comply with FSSAI, WHO, and international food safety standards.
- Manage labeling, claims, and certifications (organic, functional, clean-label, etc.).
- Stay updated on regulatory frameworks across food, nutrition, and healthcare.
- Research & Clinical Integration
- Lead scientific research on gut health, microbiome, and functional foods.
- Partner with academic institutions, labs, and healthcare organizations for studies & pilots.
- Translate latest clinical findings into practical, market-ready innovations.
- Strategic Growth & Ecosystem Building
- Identify market gaps in nutrition and healthcare products.
- Support strategic partnerships with hospitals, gyms, wellness platforms, and FMCG partners.
- Build white papers, presentations, and investor materials to establish HGK’s positioning as a thought leader in food & healthcare innovation.
Who Should Apply
- Educational Background:
- Master’s/PhD in Clinical Nutrition, Food Science, Dietetics, Biotechnology, or related field.
- Certifications in nutrition/dietetics are a strong plus.
- Experience:
- 3–7 years of experience in nutrition R&D, food innovation, or healthcare solutions.
- Prior exposure to startups, functional foods, or health-tech ecosystems preferred.
- Hands-on experience in clinical trials, nutrition program design, or food formulation is a big advantage.
- Skills & Traits:
- Strong foundation in clinical nutrition and functional foods.
- Ability to bridge science with consumer needs.
- Entrepreneurial mindset — willing to work in an equity-based early-stage startup.
- Excellent communication and ability to present scientific concepts to non-scientific stakeholders.
