Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven City Manager – Logistics and Operations to oversee and optimize the logistical and operational activities. This role involves managing daily operations, leading a local team, ensuring excellent service delivery, and implementing strategic initiatives to drive growth and efficiency. The ideal candidate has a strong background in logistics, team management, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
• City Operations Management: Oversee all last-mile and middle-mile logistics activities within the city, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.
• Team Leadership: Hire, train, and manage a high-performing local operations team including warehouse staff, drivers, and dispatchers.
• Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs such as delivery time, cost per delivery, order accuracy, and customer satisfaction. Implement strategies to meet or exceed targets.
• Logistics Optimization: Continuously analyze and improve routing, delivery schedules, and warehouse processes to increase efficiency.
• Budget & Cost Control: Manage city-level budgets, control operational costs, and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality.
• Vendor & Partner Coordination: Work with local suppliers, third-party logistics providers, and transportation partners to ensure smooth operations.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure all operations comply with company policies, industry regulations, and local laws, including health and safety standards.
• Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular reports to regional leadership with insights, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in logistics, operations, or supply chain management, ideally in a fast-paced or e-commerce environment
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of local transportation networks and regulatory landscape is a plus
Preferred Attributes:
• Experience scaling operations in a new or rapidly growing city
• Lean Six Sigma or similar certification
• Fluency in [local language] and English
