Job Description

A Circle In-charge in the electrical department, specifically for meter reading, is responsible for overseeing the meter reading process within a specific geographical area (circle). This includes ensuring accurate and timely meter readings, managing meter readers, and addressing customer inquiries related to billing and meter readings. They also play a key role in identifying and resolving meter-related issues and ensuring adherence to safety guidelines. Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising Meter Reading Operations:Overseeing the daily meter reading activities, ensuring that all meters within the assigned circle are read accurately and on schedule.
  • Managing Meter Readers:Providing guidance, training, and support to meter readers, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and resources.
  • Ensuring Accurate Meter Readings:Implementing quality control measures to verify the accuracy of meter readings, minimizing errors and discrepancies.
  • Addressing Customer Issues:Responding to customer inquiries and complaints related to meter readings, billing, and utility services, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Identifying and Resolving Meter Issues:Investigating and resolving issues related to meter malfunctions, damage, or tampering, ensuring proper functionality and accurate billing.
  • Enforcing Safety Guidelines:Ensuring that all meter reading activities are conducted in accordance with safety regulations and protocols, prioritizing the safety of employees and customers.
  • Maintaining Records:Maintaining accurate records of meter readings, customer data, and other relevant information, ensuring proper documentation and reporting.
  • Coordinating with Other Departments:Collaborating with other departments, such as billing, engineering, and customer service, to ensure seamless operations and efficient service delivery.
  • Reporting and Analysis:Generating reports on meter reading activities, identifying trends, and analyzing data to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Ensuring Compliance:Ensuring that all meter reading activities comply with relevant regulations and company policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of electricity meters, their functionalities, and common issues.
  • Supervisory Skills: Ability to manage and motivate a team of meter readers.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve meter-related issues efficiently.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain accurate records.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using computer systems for data entry, reporting, and communication.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to meter reading and electrical work.
  • Customer Service Skills: Ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism and empathy.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
