Chinese Cook

**Role Overview:** As a Chinese Cook, your main responsibility will be to prepare a variety of authentic Chinese dishes with high food quality, maintain hygiene standards, and ensure timely production. This role will involve tasks such as wok cooking, sauce preparation, ingredient cutting, and keeping the kitchen clean. **Key Responsibilities:** - **Food Preparation & Cooking:** - Prepare and cook a range of Chinese cuisine, including stir-fried, steamed, fried, roasted, and dim sum dishes. - Master wok techniques to maintain consistency in taste, texture, and presentation. - Prepare sauces, stocks, gravies, and marinades following recipe standards. - Adhere to standardized recipes and portion control guidelines. - Ensure all ingredients are fresh and handled properly. - **Kitchen Operations:** - Set up the Chinese kitchen section with necessary tools, equipment, and ingredients. - Assist in menu planning and introduce new Chinese dishes as needed. - Maintain proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items (FIFO). - Minimize food wastage and control food costs. - Clean and maintain all equipment properly. - **Hygiene & Safety:** - Follow FSSAI and hotel hygiene standards for food handling. - Keep the work area clean and ensure sanitization at all times. - Adhere to HACCP guidelines and maintain proper documentation. - Practice safety procedures when handling knives, hot surfaces, and equipment. - **Teamwork & Coordination:** - Coordinate with Commis, Helpers, and other kitchen staff effectively. - Communicate well with the service team during busy operations. - Assist in training junior staff on Chinese cooking techniques. **Qualification Required:** - Proven experience as a Chinese Cook / Wok Cook in hotels or restaurants. - Strong knowledge of Chinese cooking methods and regional cuisines (Sichuan, Cantonese, Hakka, etc.). - Ability to work under pressure during peak hours. - Good knowledge of hygiene and food safety. - Flexibility with shifts and work schedules. **Additional Details:** The job type for this position is Full-time and Permanent.
