Job Description

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be a pivotal member of the leadership team, responsible for driving innovation, technology development, and execution to align with the company's mission and vision. The CTO will oversee the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge drone technologies, including advancements in EDGE computing, control systems, and telemetry for agricultural, defense, and commercial applications. The role requires strategic thinking, leadership, and deep technical expertise to position the company as a global leader in the UAV industry.

Role & responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a robust technology roadmap aligned with the companys mission of achieving technological leadership in drones and UAV solutions.
  • Identify and assess new technologies, trends, and opportunities for innovation in EDGE computing, control systems, and telemetry for UAV applications.
  • Lead the design, development, and testing of innovative UAV products, including fixed-wing and multi-rotor drones, with a strong focus on integrated control systems and advanced telemetry.
  • Drive the implementation of EDGE computing for real-time decision-making, enhanced data processing, and improved drone autonomy.
  • Oversee the development and integration of advanced flight control systems to enhance drone stability, accuracy, and performance across diverse environments.
  • Ensure the implementation of reliable telemetry systems to enable real-time data transmission and monitoring for agricultural spraying, mapping, and defense applications.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing technical team, including R&D engineers, software developers, and field technicians.
  • Foster collaboration across departments to ensure seamless integration of technology, engineering, and operations.
  • Establish partnerships with academic institutions, research organizations, and industry stakeholders to leverage resources and foster innovation.
  • Ensure all products and technologies comply with local and international regulations, including DGCA type certifications and defense specifications.
  • Drive the development of proprietary software solutions, including AI/ML capabilities, to improve operational efficiency and after-sales service.
  • Develop AI-enabled telemetry systems for predictive maintenance and enhanced drone operations.
  • Oversee the separation of R&D and engineering functions to enhance efficiency and accountability.
  • Optimize resource allocation and improve program management processes to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Support the companys international expansion plans, including operations in Brazil, Africa, and other markets.
  • Ensure technology readiness for large-scale spraying operations, mapping services, and high-altitude defense applications.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in drone technology, aviation, robotics, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in leading R&D teams and delivering innovative solutions in control systems, telemetry, and EDGE computing.
  • Experience working with defense and government organizations is an advantage.*Technical Skills:
  • Expertise in UAV design, aerodynamics, flight control systems, and payload integration.
  • Proficiency in AI/ML, EDGE computing, telemetry, and advanced software development for UAVs.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., DGCA, FAA) and certifications.
