Position Overview

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for the overall financial strategy, planning, risk management, and operational financial efficiency of the companys real estate projects. The role ensures robust financial governance, stable cash flow, regulatory compliance, and creation of long-term value for the organization. The CFO will lead finance, accounts, taxation, and treasury functions while driving process improvements and SOP implementation across all projects.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

1. Financial Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy aligned with ongoing and upcoming real estate projects.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and project financial planning processes.
  • Build financial models for land acquisition, project feasibility, construction cost forecasting, IRR/ROI analysis, and market assessment.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to the leadership team.

2. Revenue Management

  • Oversee revenue recognition, customer invoicing, collection tracking, and escrow account compliance.
  • Ensure on-time billing as per construction progress and regulatory guidelines (including RERA, if applicable).
  • Strengthen receivable management and drive improvements in collection efficiency.

3. Fund Management & Treasury

  • Manage company-wide cash flow, liquidity, and financing requirements.
  • Evaluate, arrange, and manage bank loans, project funding, and investor relationships.
  • Optimize fund allocation between projects while ensuring compliance with escrow conditions.
  • Oversee treasury operations, interest planning, and investment decisions.

4. Financial Controls, Compliance & SOPs

  • Establish and implement strong financial policies and

    Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

    for finance, procurement, payments, and project monitoring.
  • Ensure robust internal controls to prevent financial leakages and operational inefficiencies.
  • Oversee vendor billing verification, cost certification, and payment approvals.
  • Ensure accurate MIS and real-time financial visibility of each project.

5. Risk Management

  • Identify and mitigate financial, operational, and market-related risks across all projects.
  • Conduct scenario planning, sensitivity analysis, and financial risk assessments.
  • Ensure adequate insurance coverage for assets, projects, and business operations.

6. Taxation & Statutory Compliance

  • Oversee GST, TDS, income tax, stamp duty, and real estate–specific tax planning.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements including RERA, Companies Act, and accounting standards (GAAP as applicable).
  • Manage internal and external audits, including timely filing of returns and statutory reports.

7. Project Financial Oversight

  • Monitor project-wise budgets, costs, cash flows, sales, and profitability.
  • Prepare and present monthly MIS reports, dashboards, and financial insights to management.
  • Conduct due diligence for new projects, JVs, JDs, and land acquisition proposals.
  • Support project teams by aligning financial resources with construction and sales progress.

8. Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor the finance, accounts, and treasury teams.
  • Work collaboratively with project, sales, legal, procurement, and CRM departments.
  • Build a culture of financial discipline, transparency, and process ownership.

9. Technology & System Enhancement

  • Implement and upgrade ERP systems, project accounting software, and digital approval workflows.
  • Ensure data accuracy, financial security, and actionable analytics through automation.
  • Standardize documentation and process digitization across financial functions.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Strong understanding of project finance, real estate taxation, statutory compliance, and RERA frameworks.
  • Experience in establishing financial systems, SOPs, and internal controls is highly desirable.
