Job Description

  1. Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information to the CEO and make actionable recommendations on both strategy and operations.
  2. Engage the board finance, audit, and investment committees around issues, trends, and changes in the operating model(s) and operational delivery.
  3. Assist in establishing yearly objectives and meeting agendas, and selecting and engaging outside consultants (auditors, investment advisors).
  4. Oversee long-term budgetary planning and costs management in alignment with company strategic plan.
  5. Finance and banking relationships: Adequate loan funding for the business. Achieve positive perception of the organisation among lenders.
  6. Financial Discipline:
  • While creating a budget, look at both the short-term and long-term objectives and ensure that there is no variance.
  • Use automation to boost discipline.
  • Complete ownership on the variance in the approved budget

Job Profile:

- Serve as a member of executive leadership team and participate in key decisions pertaining to strategic initiatives, operating model and operational execution

- Cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.

- Devising financing strategies and activities, as well as banking relationships.

- Enhance engagement with existing lenders and develop new banking relationships and sources of financing

- Participate in corporate policy development as a member of the senior management team.

- Develop forward-looking financial plans and projections.

- Represent the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, existing and prospective investors, foundation executives, auditors etc.

Prepare various analyses and reports required by corporate development efforts

- Oversee cash management; Approve payables; liaise with key suppliers when necessary

- Oversee AR management and provide support to collections activities

- General oversight of the accounting department to ensure legal/ regulatory compliances, internal controls and smooth functioning

- Oversight of organizational cash-flows and planning creditor payouts

- Produce bankable plans and roadmap for EPS and convince investors and stakeholders of their viability.

Knowledge & Skills:

- Excellent knowledge and understanding of accounting standards and Administration

- High degree of problem-solving skills to resolve problems in a multi-product/service environment

- Excellent communication skills

- Ability to interact at all levels

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- High degree of resilience not afraid to identify and take tough/unpopular decisions as required

- Sound man management skills

Fact Finding Analysis:

Required as a part of day-to-day work to identify and analyze trends to ensure that potential issues are identified early and solutions provided. Also, would require to be abreast with all the changes from time to time.

Decision Making:

Role holder will make operational decisions that concern a variety of matters within own work area, thereby influencing the entire organization.

Initiative, Originality and Creativity:

Problems are varied in nature and require lateral thinking and creativity for solving. Problems range from daily to highly complex issues. Novel issues and situations requiring independent action may arise. The role holder should be proactive in approach and should take necessary initiatives to be compliant at all times.

Internal Communication:

- The role holder should be able to effectively communicate with the senior management and strike a balance and facilitate communication flow from top-down

External Communication:

- Contacts require a broad range of communication techniques, including interpretation, guidance, negotiation, persuasion, building and maintaining relationships

Risk, Audit Compliance and Legal:

  • Complete ownership in terms of adherence to the necessary compliance and legal requirements.
  • Accountability of self for adherence of SOPs, Controls, Timely Audit issue closures, No Repeat Audit Issues
  • Allocating adequate time and efforts to manage risks proactively
