Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

GIFTCL invites application for the position of Chief Financial Officer (in the grade of President) (on contract). This is a contractual position for a period of 5 years. The remuneration will be commensurate with qualification and experience.

The candidate should have done Chartered Account with minimum of 25 years of experience, with at least 10 years in senior leadership roles. Detailed job description is as under,

• Finance & Accounts:

• Lead end-to-end financial operations including accounting, treasury, budgeting, financial reporting, and taxation.
• Formulate and manage annual and multi-year budgets in line with organizational objectives, project timelines, and funding availability.
• Oversee preparation and timely submission of financial statements in compliance with Indian Accounting Standards and applicable regulatory frameworks.
• Monitor actual expenditure against approved budgets and initiate corrective actions in coordination with departments.
• Ensure strict compliance with the Companies Act, Income Tax Act, GST, and other financial and regulatory requirements.
• Lead direct and indirect tax planning, optimize tax liabilities, and manage assessments, filings, and audits.
• Manage treasury functions including cash flow planning, fund utilization, investment of surplus funds, and banking relationships.
• Drive internal financial controls (IFC), audit preparedness, and timely closure of internal, statutory, CAG, and special audits.
• Lead development and implementation of financial policies, SOPs, cost accounting practices, and delegation of financial powers.
• Oversee capital expenditure management for infrastructure and city development projects, ensuring fund availability, usage tracking, and cost optimization.
• Develop business cases, financial models, and viability assessments for new initiatives, projects, and expansion proposals.
• Evaluate funding options, support debt and equity structuring, and liaise with financial institutions, government agencies, and investors as needed.
• Enable automation and digitization of financial processes including ERP integration, real-time dashboards, and MIS for senior leadership.
• Present financial analysis, forecasts, and scenario planning reports to the Board and senior management for strategic decision-making.

• Legal and Procurement & Contracts Department (through Department Heads):

• Oversee legal risk management, land management, contract governance, litigation tracking, statutory adherence and interaction with legal consultants and regulatory bodies.
• Guide the Procurement & Contracts department in policy formulation, tendering processes, vendor management, contract finalization, and audit preparedness.
• Ensure institutional standardization of SOPs, approval workflows, process digitization, and cross-functional policy harmonization.
• Promote a culture of accountability, performance, governance, and continuous improvement across all corporate functions.

Competencies Required:

• Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, capital structuring, and aligning finance strategy with business goals.
• Knowledge of Ind AS/IFRS, taxation, corporate governance, and statutory requirements.
• Strong in financial risk management, internal controls, and audit frameworks.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams with integrity and strategic vision.
• Understanding of operations, market dynamics, and stakeholder management.
• ERP systems, BI dashboards, and digital transformation in finance.
• Clear and persuasive reporting to Board, authorities, and investors.
