Center of Excellence HVDC Manager

Purpose/Objective

The Center of Excellence HVDC Manager-Tx supports the operational reliability, technical quality, and diagnostic accuracy of HVDC and STATCOM systems through detailed engineering, system studies, and implementation of innovative solutions. This role contributes to project success by executing advanced analyses, maintaining engineering compliance, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to optimize asset performance and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities of Role

Center of Excellence HVDC Manager-Tx System Studies: Ensure compliance with technical standards by conducting detailed analyses of HVDC and STATCOM system specifications. Improve network reliability by executing load flow studies, PLSCAD modeling, and assessing the impact of load and generation changes. Maintain engineering quality by reviewing OEM designs, main circuit parameters, and type test certifications. Strengthen diagnostic capabilities by using advanced tools such as PLCC and PLSCAD in system modeling and studies. Operational Excellence: Contribute to improving asset performance by supporting the implementation of solutions for substations, transmission lines, and network operations. Ensure timely delivery of system studies and engineering outputs by adhering to operational standards and processes. Optimize resources and streamline workflows to enhance efficiency and meet project deadlines. Technology and Innovation: Drive operational reliability by applying advanced engineering tools and technologies in system studies and diagnostics. Contribute to solving network challenges through the use of predictive diagnostics and innovative technological solutions. Governance, Compliance, and Risk Management: Minimize risks and ensure compliance with engineering and regulatory standards in system study projects. Address operational risks proactively by identifying and addressing potential issues in collaboration with the team lead. Stakeholder Management: Support collaboration with internal stakeholders, external consultants, and contractors to ensure seamless execution of system studies and engineering projects. Communicate technical findings and recommendations effectively to ensure alignment with business and project objectives. Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualification: B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field. Work Experience (Range of years): 2-5 years of experience in power systems engineering, with a focus on HVDC, STATCOM, or system studies. Knowledge of power network operations, load forecasting, and generation management. Hands-on experience with system modeling, load flow studies, and advanced engineering tools like PLSCAD or PLCC. Ability to support the execution of engineering solutions and system studies for HVDC and STATCOM projects.
