Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Chef de Partie (CDP) or Above to be part of our vibrant kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong culinary background, an eye for detail, and a passion for delivering outstanding food. As a senior member of the kitchen brigade, you will be responsible for overseeing specific sections of the kitchen, ensuring food quality, and mentoring junior staff. Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Team Collaboration:
  • Supervise and lead a section of the kitchen, ensuring consistency in food preparation and presentation.
  • Assist in training, guiding, and mentoring junior chefs and kitchen staff.
  • Collaborate closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to maintain smooth kitchen operations.
  • Foster a positive and professional kitchen culture that emphasizes teamwork, innovation, and quality.
  • Food Preparation & Presentation:
  • Prepare high-quality dishes in your assigned section according to the café's menu and standards.
  • Ensure that food is prepared in a timely manner, meeting both quality and presentation standards.
  • Contribute new ideas and seasonal menu items to keep the café’s offerings fresh and exciting.
  • Maintain consistency in the taste, appearance, and portion control of dishes.
  • Quality Control:
  • Oversee the quality of ingredients and dishes coming from your section, ensuring they meet Ariko Café’s high standards.
  • Ensure that all kitchen equipment is used properly and cleaned and maintained regularly.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations at all times.
  • Conduct regular checks on stock, rotating products to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
  • Inventory & Stock Management:
  • Assist in managing the stock for your section, ensuring that inventory is accurate and orders are placed in a timely manner.
  • Monitor food cost and portion control to help manage kitchen expenses effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Participate in menu development, helping to introduce new ideas and techniques to enhance the overall guest experience.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate innovative practices into the kitchen.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years in a professional kitchen environment, with at least 1 year at the Chef de Partie level or above.
  • Experience in high-volume or fine-dining establishments is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and kitchen operations.
  • Leadership Skills:
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and inspire junior chefs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the team.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Excellent knife skills, mise en place, and a deep understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques.
  • Experience with menu planning, costing, and inventory management.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for consistently delivering high-quality food.
  • Health & Safety:
  • In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (HACCP or equivalent certification is a plus).
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Creativity:
  • A keen eye for food presentation and a creative approach to developing new dishes.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
