Job Description

 Installation & Commissioning (70% of the role)Site Preparation: Work with the Project Manager to review site plans and wiring diagrams. Conduct on-site verification to ensure all prerequisites (power, conduit, mounting points) are in place before installation begins. Hardware Installation: Professional installation of all types of CCTV cameras (Dome, Bullet, PTZ) on various surfaces (walls, ceilings, poles). Installation of field equipment, including junction boxes, poles, and outdoor enclosures. Physical installation of servers, network switches, and monitors in control rooms and server racks. Cabling & Connectivity: Running, terminating, and testing of structured cabling (CAT6, fiber optic). Ensuring all connections are secure, weatherproof (for outdoor installations), and neatly managed. Initial Configuration & Setup: Configuring the IP addresses and basic settings of cameras and other network devices. Connecting devices to the network and ensuring they are discoverable by the central VMS (Video Management System). Assisting the Lead Engineer with the initial setup of the VMS, NVRs, and Edge AI devices. B) Maintenance & Troubleshooting (20% of the role)Preventative Maintenance: Conduct scheduled on-site visits for clients under an Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC). This includes cleaning camera lenses, checking connections, and verifying system health. On-site Troubleshooting (First Responder): Act as the first technical responder for any hardware-related issues reported by the client. Diagnose problems on-site (e.g., a camera not powering on, a faulty cable, a network connectivity issue). Perform immediate repairs or coordinate with the Support Engineer and Procurement Manager for the replacement of faulty hardware (RMA process). C) Documentation & Reporting (10% of the role)Daily Progress Reports: Submit a concise daily report to the Project Manager during the installation phase, detailing the work completed, challenges faced, and the plan for the next day. Installation Sign-off: Prepare the "As-Built" documentation, including a final list of installed device serial numbers. Walk the client through the completed installation and obtain their formal sign-off. Service Reports: For every maintenance or support visit, complete a digital service report detailing the issue, the action taken, and the final resolution, and get the client's signature on the mobile app. 3. Required Skills & QualificationsA) Technical Skills (Must-Have): CCTV & Networking Fundamentals: Deep, hands-on understanding of IP cameras, NVRs, and basic computer networking principles (IP addressing, subnets). Cabling Expertise: Proficient in running, terminating, and testing both UTP (CAT6) and fiber optic cables. Tools Proficiency: Skilled in using all necessary hand and power tools for installation, as well as testing equipment like a LAN tester. Basic Electrical Knowledge: A solid understanding of low-voltage electrical wiring, power supplies, and PoE (Power over Ethernet).
