Overall purpose of role and Key Accountabilities will include:
- Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
- Maintaining high delivery standards. Ensure all the deliverables produced for accuracy and completeness before submission.
- Manage timely completion of all deliverables in the book of work which include: Controls governance & reporting for controls committees.
- Weekly Issue Reporting to the CCO Management/ stakeholders.
- Other ad-hoc/ quarterly updates for the senior management.
- Tracking & reporting control issues including adherence to the Risk Event Escalation Matrix, performing BCF gap analysis, publishing key updates to stakeholders and ensuring issues out of governance are flagged to the management.
- Proactively identify continuous improvement opportunities in the control environment, the associated framework, supporting policies, methodologies, operational metrics, KPIs etc.
- Support business in driving risk event and model attestation with defined group timelines.
- Support any additional Governance or MI Reporting request from Stakeholder
- Manage discussions with stakeholders on the control environment, initiatives and controls recommendations.
- Challenge the status quo by identifying opportunities for process improvements and implement control best practices across in-scope business areas.
To be successful a "CCO Governance AVP", you should have experience with:
Basic/ Essential Qualifications:
- Graduate in any discipline
- Experience in Controls, Governance, Reporting and Risk Management preferably in a financial services organisation.
- Comprehensive understanding of governance and control frameworks and processes prescribed for Control Committees.
- Experience in data crunching/analysis and reporting preferably in a financial services organisation
- Experience in - PowerApps/Power Automate, Macro/VBA Script etc.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Excellent time management, prioritisation and multi-tasking skills.
- Excellent execution skills.
- Highly motivated self-starter, business-focussed and forward thinking.
- Sound commercial judgment and overall understanding of the Financial Services Industry.
Desirable skillsets/ good to have:
- Working knowledge of Co-Pilot and BI Query
- Excellent relationship building and networking skills
- Experience in managing/ supporting controls/ Risk committees.
- Experience in senior stakeholder management. Ability to manage reporting lines and relationships across multiple disciplines.
- Strong project and change management skills.
This role will be based out of Noida and Gurgaon.
Purpose of the role
To assess the integrity and effectiveness of the banks internal control framework to support the mitigation of risk and protection of the banks operational, financial, and reputational risk.
Accountabilities
- Knowledge of business areas, products, processes and platforms to be able to assess risk
- Collaboration with various stakeholders across the bank and business units to improve overall control effectiveness through detailed documentation of control assessments, procedures, and findings.
- Identification and investigation of potential weaknesses and issues within internal controls to promote continuous improvement and risk mitigation aligned to the bank s control framework, prioritised by its severity to disrupt bank operations.
- Development of reports to communicate key findings from risk assessment including control weaknesses and recommendations to control owners, senior management, and other stakeholders.
- Execution of reviews to determine the effectiveness of the banks internal controls framework aligned to established and evolving policies, regulation, and best practice.
- Implementation of adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and set appropriate methodology of assessing controls against the Controls Framework.
