Job Title:- Category Marketing Manager

Reporting to:- Marketing Lead - Preethi

Location:- Chennai

You have the opportunity to:

Manage one of the core categories of the company and will be responsible for driving category growth through strategic planning and execution. This role involves developing Product propositions, managing product portfolios, pricing and promotions, and creating marketing strategies based on market and consumer insights. . This role will be responsible in delivering effective strategies to generate results driving the success of products, services & brand promise in the marketplace.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and articulate category positioning and value proposition and develop strategies to differentiate the category in the market.
  • Translates the marketing strategy and plan into a business plan, with supporting launch plans and other required actions to meet the planned results.
  • Establish effective working relationships with sales and agency leadership to ensure that our products and services are implemented through sales enablement and marketing demand generation programs
  • Define the product portfolio, the product positioning, pricing, distribution, service and promotion plan, which should contribute to optimised sales value, product mix and volume to deliver the agreed targets.
  • Sets and manages margin and pricing policies, ensuring effective implementation in the sales plans. Responsible for local or regional consistency in pricing and product range.
  • Owns the sales planning and manages slow moving or outdated inventory. Resolve or escalate product allocation issues, in case of supply restrictions.
  • Initiates (corrective) actions and formulates marketing support requirements, validated by sales management in order to improve on business objectives.
  • Execute online and offline marketing initiatives, integrating online and new media, email, print, direct mail, social media, company websites, SEM/SEO strategy development, brand awareness and drip marketing initiatives. The ability to speak to how these channels work together is very important.
  • Manage the distribution and channel mix according to criteria set by General management.
  • Advertisement & Promotional activities like Sponsorships, Press Meet, Event
  • Manages Advertising & Promotion Budget
  • Provide feedback into product development and service offers and participates in their development; collaborate to create, launch and track performance of product and service offerings in our markets

To succeed in this role, you should have the following qualifications and experience:

  • MBA specialized in Marketing Management
  • Experience of 5-10 years
  • Brand Strategy and Annual Brand Plan
  • Pricing and Portfolio Management
  • New Product Launches
  • Micro Planning and Execution of Activities
  • Budget Planning, Control and Management.
  • Familiarity with agencies specializing in data warehousing, business intelligence or analytics and modelling services a plus
  • Skilled in direct response marketing with ability to craft integrated marketing strategies across all channels and touch points, including website, print communications, online communications and direct mail
  • Experience working closely with a sales organization with a strong affinity for sales team success
  • Creative thinker, excellent listener and communicator
  • Intuitive, Proactive, Collaborative, Leader, Driver, Creative Problem Solver, Analytical, Versatile, and Thrives Under Pressure” are words that describe you
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of an organization comfortably.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with varying priority at one time –to deliver results on time and under budget. Previous sales experience is a strong plus
