Category Manager

As an Ecommerce Category Manager at Annachy (Powered by Saravana Stores), an early-stage ecommerce venture with a mission to deliver trusted quality products at the lowest prices, you will play a crucial role in driving growth and profitability for a category. Your expertise in purchasing, assortment planning, inventory replenishment, product merchandising, and collaboration across teams will be essential in ensuring the best customer experience and meeting business targets. Key Responsibilities: - Own the category's P&L, focusing on key metrics like Gross Merchandise Value and Inventory turnover. Maintain appropriate selection, drive cost-efficient sourcing, and collaborate on marketing strategies. - Curate and manage a compelling selection aligned with customer preferences and market demand. Optimize product listings for visibility and conversions. Plan and execute promotional strategies to boost sales and engagement. - Stay updated on market trends and competitive landscape to refine assortment strategies. Implement competitive pricing models and identify new trends relevant to the category. - Utilize data-driven insights to identify growth opportunities and enhance customer experience. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop monthly replenishment plans for optimal stock levels. - Negotiate with suppliers for better pricing and terms. Manage day-to-day category operations and collaborate with internal teams for appropriate merchandising and app features. Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Master's degree is a plus. - Experience: 5+ years in category management, vendor management, or sourcing/P&L experience in ecommerce or retail. - Expertise in product selection, price negotiation, and supplier relationship management. Proficiency in data analysis and attention to detail. - Team management experience and a track record of meeting or exceeding business targets. Preferred qualifications include a good understanding of the Tamil Nadu market, fluency in Tamil and Hindi, experience in B2C, and familiarity with tailoring campaigns to local consumer behavior.
