Role Overview
The Caretaker at Petstreet Resort is responsible for the day-to-day care, safety, feeding, hygiene, and well-being of all dogs staying at the resort. The role also includes basic cooking, client interaction, kennel cleaning, medication administration, and maintaining overall resort cleanliness.
This is a hands-on job requiring compassion, patience, physical stamina, and love for dogs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Dog Handling & Care
Safely handle dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments.
Accompany dogs for walks, playtime, and exercise as per schedule.
Monitor dog behaviour, eating habits, stool/urine output, and report abnormalities immediately.
Ensure dogs are comfortable, stress-free, and secure during their stay.
2. Feeding & Basic Cooking
Prepare fresh meals as per pet parent instructions (boiled chicken, rice, vegetables, eggs, etc.).
Measure and serve meals accurately and on time.
Maintain food inventory and inform management of low stock.
Ensure bowls & feeding areas are kept clean and hygienic.
3. Medications & Special Care
Administer oral medications, topical creams, and supplements as per instructions only.
Maintain medication logs for each dog.
Check vaccination records before check-in to ensure compliance with resort policies.
4. Kennel Cleaning & Hygiene
Deep clean and sanitize kennels, bedding, bowls, and play areas multiple times a day.
Follow Petstreet’s cleaning SOPs to maintain a safe, odour-free, infection-free environment.
Handle waste disposal properly.
5. Client Interaction & Service
Greet clients politely and assist with check-in/check-out.
Collect dog information such as feeding instructions, medical needs, behaviour notes, etc.
Maintain a positive, friendly attitude that reflects Petstreet’s brand.
Share updates with clients only through resort communication channels (no personal numbers).
6. Safety & Monitoring
Ensure kennel doors, gates, and play areas are always locked and secure.
Monitor dogs for signs of stress, dehydration, injuries, or fights.
Immediately report emergencies or unusual behaviour to the resort manager.
7. Operational Support
Help with laundry: washing dog beds, towels, and blankets.
Assist in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies, bedding, and dog care essentials.
Support with small errands when required.
Job RequirementsSkills & ExperienceExperience in dog handling (preferred but not mandatory—training will be provided).
Ability to cook basic meals like boiled chicken, rice, eggs, etc.
Physically fit to walk, lift, and manage large dogs.
Patience and compassion for animals.
Basic communication skills (Hindi essential).
Behavioural Requirements - As per the PETSTREET Employee Policy:
Must follow attendance, punctuality, and leave rules strictly.
Must maintain clean uniform, hygiene, and polite behaviour.
Theft, misconduct, or negligence is strictly prohibited and leads to termination.
Working Hours
Full-time shift (to be assigned by Resort Manager).
Flexibility required during weekends, festivals, and high-booking periods.
