Key Responsibilities
- Surgical Procedures
- Perform advanced cardiac surgeries, including bypass surgery, valve replacements, congenital defect repairs, and interventional procedures.
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and develop surgical plans tailored to each patient's medical condition.
- Ensure precision, safety, and adherence to best practices during all surgical interventions.
- Clinical Care
- Diagnose and treat patients with heart and vascular conditions requiring surgical intervention.
- Monitor patients' health pre- and post-surgery, adjusting care plans as needed to support recovery.
- Provide emergency surgical care when critical situations arise.
- Collaboration & Coordination
- Work in close collaboration with cardiologists, critical care specialists, and medical teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Guide and mentor junior doctors, surgical residents, and nursing staff in surgical techniques and patient care standards.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and ensure best outcomes.
- Patient Care & Communication
- Counsel patients and their families on surgical procedures, risks, recovery expectations, and long-term care.
- Demonstrate empathy and compassion while maintaining clarity and transparency in patient communications.
- Promote patient education on lifestyle management and preventive care post-surgery.
- Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, medical standards, and ethical practices in all surgical interventions.
- Maintain accurate medical records, surgical notes, and patient histories.
- Implement infection control and patient safety measures during and after surgery.
- Continuous Learning & Development
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiac surgery, interventional cardiology, and surgical techniques.
- Participate in conferences, training, and workshops to enhance surgical skills and clinical expertise.
- Contribute to hospital research, innovation, and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- MBBS degree with MS/DNB in General Surgery and MCh/DNB in Cardiac Surgery from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2+ years of post-qualification experience in cardiac surgery.
- Proven expertise in performing both open-heart and interventional cardiac procedures.
- Strong clinical decision-making, surgical dexterity, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills in a multidisciplinary environment.
