Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Prepare CMM programs from CAD data and prints for component parts and assemblies.
  • Perform first-off, in-process, and end-of-run inspections; generate and submit inspection reports.
  • Balloon customer drawings/prints and perform layout inspections of checking fixtures.
  • Execute layout tasks per request, issue layout reports, and review layouts with product and quality engineers.
  • Prepare data for PPAP submissions and conduct gauge studies including GR&R (attribute and variable).
  • Monitor gauge control software; ensure gauges are calibrated and verified according to schedule and procedures.
  • Assist in problem solving and root-cause analysis to support continuous improvement.
  • Apply GD&T knowledge and operate measurement equipment (CMM, VMM/OMM); perform daily CMM calibration.
  • Maintain metrology lab standards: CMM cleanliness, part temperature control, proper temperature & humidity, and 5S practices.
  • Develop, run, store, and maintain CMM programs using available software; schedule and coordinate CMM maintenance as required.
  • Create work instructions for CMM operation and use data collection tools effectively.
  • Drive improvements to quality processes and reduce inspection cycle time.
  • Operate and troubleshoot QC inspection equipment; produce accurate inspection reports using blueprints, CAD models, verbal instructions, or sketches.
  • Design and fabricate basic fixtures and tools necessary for measurement activities.
  • Train and mentor junior staff in programming and measurement skills to develop departmental capability.
  • Actively participate in APQP Process especially in Gauge and Fixture design
  • Able to work with minimum supervision, able to work flexible hours with occasional overtime
  • Performs required incoming inspections based on the “Receiving incoming Inspection logs”
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager
  • Experience in the operation and programming of Coordinate Measuring Machines
  • Minimum of five or more years of inspection experience
  • Knowledge on Carl Zeiss / Calypso CMM is Preferred.
