Job Title: CAD Engineer Job Description We are seeking a skilled CAD Engineer who will be responsible for the development of vehicle interior and exterior 3D CAD designs. The role involves using studio class A styling surfaces from the concept phase to the physical prototype stage. You will ensure tooling feasibility, part compatibility, packaging study, functionality, and cost-effectiveness. You will develop part-to-part interfaces and update designs based on master sections. Additionally, you are expected to release parts during the Final Data Judgement (FDJ) while clearing all DPA issues. You will own the complete commodity and lead the timeline to deliver tasks. Responsibilities Develop 3D CAD designs for vehicle interiors and exteriors using studio class A styling surfaces. Ensure designs consider tooling feasibility, compatibility of parts, and packaging studies. Focus on functionality and cost-effectiveness in the design process. Develop interfaces between parts and update designs based on master sections. Release parts during Final Data Judgement (FDJ), resolving all DPA issues. Lead the delivery timeline for assigned tasks. Essential Skills Proficiency in interior trim design using Catia. Strong knowledge in Interior Plastics designing, including IP & CNSL, DT, Registers, Hard Trims & HVAC Ducts. Expertise in Catia V5 Workbenches such as Part Design, Surface Design, Assembly Design, and Kinematics. Experience with injection molding and tooling. Competence in benchmarking interior components and draft analysis in Catia. Knowledge in Master Sectioning and DPA process. Understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA). Hands-on experience in creating 2D detail drawings. Proficiency in GD&T and GPDS. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Basic knowledge of part-level and vehicle-level testing standards. Familiarity with COD (Chain of Dimensioning)/Stack-up Analysis. Knowledge in Team Centre and 3DExperience is an added advantage. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Commitment to following best practices and processes to achieve team deliverables.
