CAD Automation Lead

CAD Automation Lead:

We are building an engineering automation stack that elevates CAD capabilities, streamlines complex design logic, and advances next-generation workflows. As a CAD Automation Lead, you will drive the automation layer that enables faster decisions, cleaner models, and smarter engineering across multiple programs.

What You will Do:

• Develop advanced CAD automation through scripts, plug-ins, macros, and rule-driven workflows that enhance modelling speed and consistency.
• Build Python-based engineering logic that defines components, assemblies, constraints, and decision rules for automated design generation.
• Implement intelligent CAD validation systems to assess geometry quality, feature integrity, clearances, compliance with engineering standards and regulatory compliance.
• Create reusable computational libraries for geometry extraction, spatial analysis, and high-performance data processing across design programs.
• Translate engineering requirements into scalable automation logic and continuously refine these systems to support evolving product needs.
• Enable generative and early-concept exploration by developing routing logic, assembly structures, and configurable design variants.
• Maintain a modern, well-documented codebase with proper version control, testing frameworks, and continuous improvement practices.
• Accelerate engineering workflows by embedding automation seamlessly into daily design operations for multiple teams.

What You Bring:

• Around 5 years of deep, hands-on experience in CAD automation or customization.
• Strong command of at least one CAD API (VBA, EKL, CATScript, NXOpen, 3DX/CAA, or similar).
• Serious Python skills with object-oriented modelling, geometry handling, data processing.
• A sharp understanding of 3D assemblies, product structures, feature trees, and engineering constraints.
• The ability to break down complex engineering rules into simple, reliable automation logic.
• Curiosity, rigor, and the drive to raise the bar for how design gets done.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with design-rule automation or CAD quality systems.
• Understanding of mechanical/thermal/routing systems and early-stage architecture flows.
• Comfort working in an iterative, product style development environment.
