Business Process Specialist

Role Purpose

To strengthen business resilience by identifying risks, ensuring effective controls, and driving assurance practices that support compliant and scalable growth.

About the Role

We are looking for a Business Process Risk & Controls Specialist who can ensure our business processes are well-controlled, compliant, and resilient. This role focuses on understanding business processes, identifying risks, testing controls, and ensuring corrective actions, while also recommending process improvements to strengthen operations. The role spans across diverse business functions, including customer-facing, sales & marketing, product, business operations, and service delivery teams, with emphasis on leveraging technology and GenAI for risk monitoring and insights.

This role focuses on business processes and operational functions and does not cover finance or IT function assurance.

Reporting Structure

This role will be part of the Founders Office (Risk & Assurance Division)

Key Responsibilities

• Understand and document business processes across functions.
• Identify risks associated with each process and assess their impact.
• Evaluate existing controls for design and operational effectiveness.
• Recommend new controls and process improvements where gaps are identified.
• Test and monitor controls to ensure compliance and reliability.
• Track lapses, ensure timely closure, and follow up with relevant teams.
• Partner with business teams to embed risk awareness and ownership of controls.
• Define metrics to monitor risk trends, control performance, and remediation progress.
• Design assurance practices that are scalable as the organisation expands.
• Use data and technology (including GenAI tools) for assurance testing and insights.
• Prepare regular reports on findings, risks, and remediation progress for leadership.

What Were Looking For

• 2-3 years of experience in business process optimization/ operations/ risk management or compliance in a business context.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to link processes, risks, and controls.
• Tech-driven mindset, leveraging tools, automation, and GenAI for process assurance.
• Ability to independently evaluate process compliance and influence stakeholders.
• Strong communication, documentation, and reporting skills.
• Bias for execution, detail orientation, and commitment to continuous improvement
• Certifications related to Risk & Controls or Process Assurance would be an added advantage.
