Business Operations and Governance Manager

Job Purpose

The Business Operations & Governance Manager is responsible for day-to-day operational execution as well as broader strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include leading the development and implementation of governance frameworks that support transparency, accountability, and compliance. The manager will also oversee critical reporting cycles, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of insights that inform strategic decision-making at the leadership level. In addition, the role supports senior leaders by facilitating structured processes that enhance operational efficiency and enable data-driven decisions. This includes coordinating cross-functional initiatives, streamlining business operations, and embedding best practices that foster continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive governance, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
• Run governance forums: prepare agendas, presentations, take minutes, track actions, and ensure timely follow-ups.
• Design and implement new governance processes.
• Maintain governance templates and uphold business processes across the function.
• Support the Head of Business Operations & Governance in strategic planning and execution.
• Oversee onboarding of new starters, ensuring smooth integration into the team.
• Be responsible for operational & portfolio Risk Management across the team.
• Prepare monthly Executive level reports and contribute to leadership board presentations.
• Analyse operational performance data and provide insights to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
• Maintain the project portfolio and provide regular reporting. For example, project portfolio health, risks, issues and outcomes.
• Line manage small team.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience in business operations and governance roles within a technology or enterprise services environment.
• Good understanding of project management methodologies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Financial acumen and experience in portfolio-level reporting.
• PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Degree or certification in Business Administration, Governance, or related field.
