Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) with a strong background in cold chain logistics for pharmaceutical, healthcare, and clinical trial industry clients. The BDM will play a crucial role in expanding our presence in the pharmaceutical sector, driving business growth, and establishing strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within the cold chain logistics industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy Development:
Develop and implement strategic sales plans to penetrate the pharmaceutical market and achieve revenue targets. Identify key opportunities for growth and expansion within the cold chain logistics sector.
Client Acquisition:
Prospect and acquire new pharmaceutical clients for our cold chain logistics services. Build and maintain a robust pipeline of leads through targeted outreach, networking, and relationship-building activities.
Industry Expertise:
Leverage your in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical cold chain logistics to understand client requirements and provide tailored solutions. Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and enhance service offerings.
Relationship Management:
Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders in the pharmaceutical industry, including manufacturers, distributors, and regulatory authorities. Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering insights and solutions to meet their logistics needs.
Proposal Development:
Prepare comprehensive proposals and presentations for potential clients, showcasing our cold chain capabilities, technology infrastructure, and quality assurance processes. Collaborate with internal teams to customize solutions that align with client objectives.
Negotiation and Contract Management:
Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with pharmaceutical clients to secure profitable agreements. Ensure all contractual obligations are met and manage ongoing client relationships to drive customer satisfaction and retention.
Market Intelligence:
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify market trends, competitive threats, and opportunities for differentiation. Provide regular updates and insights to management on market dynamics and potential business risks.
Team Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, customer service, and finance, to ensure seamless execution of sales initiatives and delivery of exceptional service to clients.
Requirements:
- Degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field. (Bachelors degree preferred).
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, management within the pharmaceutical cold chain logistics sector.
- Proven track record of successfully acquiring and managing pharmaceutical clients, preferably with a focus on temperature-controlled logistics.
- Deep understanding of pharmaceutical industry regulations, quality standards, and cold chain best practices.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to navigate complex client requirements and logistics challenges.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
