Business Automation Developer

This operation is based in the US, so the employee will be required to work in the Eastern Time Zone (EST) i.e., from 9pm to 5.30am IST. Excellent verbal and written English skills are a necessity.

Position Summary:

Seeking a skilled Business Automation Engineer to join our Business Resources team. Based in India, this role will develop custom automation solutions and internal tools for U.S.-based corporate teams, eliminating manual processes and improving operational efficiency. Reporting to the Director of Business Resources - Systems and Automation, you'll build practical applications that solve real business problems across HR, Training, Operations, and other corporate functions using Python and modern development practices.

Role & Responsibilities:

As a Business Automation Engineer, you will transform how our teams work:

• Design, develop, and deploy automation applications that eliminate manual,repetitive tasks
• Build tools for data processing, reporting, system integration, and workflow automation across corporate functions
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand pain points and translate business needs into technical solutions
• Develop user-friendly applications (CLI and GUI) for non-technical users
• Integrate applications with existing enterprise systems (UKG, iCIMS, databases, APIs, etc.)
• Leverage AI coding assistants to accelerate development and improve code quality
• Create and maintain documentation, SOPs, and version control for all solutions
• Provide ongoing support, bug fixes, and feature enhancements for deployed applications
• Identify new automation opportunities through collaboration with business teams
• Stay current with automation tools, best practices, and emerging technologies

Preferred Candidate Profile:

• 3-5 years of experience in software development, automation engineering, or business systems development
• Strong proficiency in

  Python

  including libraries like pandas, requests, and GUI/web frameworks
• Experience building internal tools or business process automation solutions
• Ability to gather requirements from non-technical stakeholders and translate them into working applications
• Familiarity with API integration, data processing, and database operations
• Experience with version control (Git) and software development best practices
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder updates
• Comfortable working with U.S.-based teams across multiple departments
• Self-motivated learner who can quickly adapt to new tools and technologies
• Experience with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, etc.) is a plus
• Knowledge of HRIS systems (UKG, Workday, etc.) or enterprise software is a bonus
• Familiarity with additional languages/tools (JavaScript, SQL, PowerShell) is advantageous
