Business Analyst Lead

We are seeking a skilled and experienced, detail-oriented Service Delivery Manager, responsible for Data Research and Collection and to facilitate communication and coordination between CRU Data Owners and Merit Data Research teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, project management, and data quality assurance, with a focus on optimising data processes and data flows, while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data. They will ensure that project requirements are clearly specified by the Data Owners and that the Data Research team meet the requirements, while maintaining high standards of quality. An entrepreneurial outlook by the applicant will be highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Liaison Role / Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact between onsite analysts (data owners) and offshore teams (data research and collection specialists) and ensure seamless communication and collaboration between functions. Manage onshore and offshore team relations to ensure cohesive and collaborative working.
• Service Delivery: Develop and own project plans, including defining scopes, objectives, timelines, and managing resource allocation. Track project progress, ensuring that milestones are met and identify any potential issues early on. Ensure the team tracks and meet targets agreed with stakeholders. Identify potential risks associated with project execution and be proactive in developing mitigation strategies in collaboration with team members. Provide regular updates to stakeholders on the status of projects, risks, and outcomes.
• Data Quality Assurance: Work with Quality Assurance teams to implement and maintain data quality standards and best practices. Develop and execute data quality assessment protocols, including data profiling, cleansing, and validation processes. Identify and resolve data quality issues, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability. Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of data within specific domains. Ensure regular data audits and quality checks are done satisfactorily.
• Research and Data Collections: Working as the team manager, the job holder will be expected to perform research and data collection tasks to support and contribute to the deliverables of the team.
• Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including status reports, meeting notes, and action items.
• Leadership Responsibility: This is a hands-on leadership role, not a just another managerial layer, intended to facilitate delivery and reduce barriers between CRU and Merit analysts.
• Requirements Gathering Ownership: The candidate will be responsible for eliciting, documenting, and validating requirements from CRU stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals
• End-to-End Delivery Accountability: Own project delivery from initiation to final delivery, ensuring all milestones and deliverables are met.
• CRU Business Process Knowledge: Familiarity with CRUs data flows and business processes, or the ability to rapidly develop expertise in these areas, is essential.
• Onsite Presence Consideration: Need basis onsite presence at CRU will be required to facilitate collaboration, with scheduling coordinated in line with project needs in the Analysis BU.

Qualifications

• Any Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (in Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field would be a benefit).
• Strong understanding of data governance, data architecture, and data integration best practices.
• Overall 6+ years of experience with proven capability in leading a team.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear interaction with team members and stakeholders.
• Proactive with the curiosity and willingness to learn new processes, sectors and tools.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
• Experience working with remote teams or in an offshore/onshore team is an added bonus.
• Any experience or working knowledge of metallurgy, commodities or geology is beneficial but not mandatory.
