Bus Fleet Maintenance Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance Planning & Coordination
• Develop and oversee the preventive maintenance schedule for the entire bus fleet.
• Coordinate periodic services with OEM workshops (Tata, Eicher, Ashok Leyland) to ensure priority attention and quick turnaround.
• Liaise with A/C servicing and specialized body repair workshops for scope‑based work.
• Breakdown & Emergency Management
• Act as first point of contact for in‑field breakdowns; coordinate rapid response with local mechanics and electricians.
• Mobilize mobile repair teams or tow vehicles as needed to minimize downtime.
• Vendor & Workshop Management
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with authorized service centers and third‑party vendors.
• Negotiate service agreements, priority slots, and rates to optimize cost and delivery times.
• Operations Collaboration
• Work closely with the Operations team to schedule vehicle availability and handovers.
• Communicate status updates and expected return‑to‑service times.
• Financial Oversight
• Review and verify service bills, ensuring accuracy of labor, parts, and hourly charges.
• Approve work orders and manage escalations for any discrepancies.
• Reporting & Documentation
• Maintain comprehensive maintenance records: service logs, parts usage, costs and downtime metrics.
• Generate weekly/monthly maintenance performance reports for management review.
• Safety & Compliance
• Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to statutory regulations, safety standards and OEM guidelines.
• Drive root‑cause analysis for repeat failures and implement corrective actions.

Key Performance Indicators

• Vehicle Breakdowns:
• Achieve a year‑over‑year reduction in unscheduled breakdowns (target: ≥ 15% fewer breakdowns).
• Service Turnaround Time (TAT):
• Maintain average workshop TAT of ≤ 8 hours for routine services and ≤ 2 hours for emergency repairs.
• Maintenance Cost Efficiency:
• Reduce maintenance cost per kilometer to less than INR 2/km through optimized vendor negotiations and parts usage.
• Fleet Health Index:
• Monitor and improve a composite health score (including uptime %, preventive maintenance compliance, and failure‑rate trends) to ≥ 98%.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
