Job Description

Job Summary:

The Branch Head will be responsible for overseeing overall branch operations, sales, marketing, distribution, and team management for the assigned territory. The role involves achieving sales targets, expanding market reach, maintaining distributor and dealer relationships, ensuring operational efficiency, and driving profitability for the branch.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sales & Business Development

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the branch.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the electrical products segment (e.g., cables, switchgear, lighting, panels, etc.).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, distributors, contractors, consultants, and OEMs.
  • Plan and execute promotional activities to increase market penetration.

2. Operations & Administration

  • Oversee day-to-day branch operations including logistics, billing, and dispatch.
  • Ensure smooth coordination between sales, accounts, and warehouse teams.
  • Maintain inventory control and ensure timely stock replenishment.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and compliance norms.

3. Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the branch team (sales executives, service engineers, office staff).
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and training sessions to enhance productivity.
  • Promote teamwork and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

4. Market Analysis & Reporting

  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends to develop suitable strategies.
  • Provide periodic sales and performance reports to senior management.
  • Analyze customer feedback and suggest product or process improvements.

5. Financial Control

  • Manage branch expenses and ensure cost optimization.
  • Monitor outstanding collections and ensure timely recovery of payments.
  • Contribute to profitability through strategic planning and operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Graduate in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (preferred); MBA in Marketing or Operations will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 712 years of experience in sales or branch management within the

    electrical or manufacturing industry

    .
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Good understanding of electrical products, distribution networks, and industrial customers.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Achievement of sales & revenue targets.
  • Market share growth in the assigned region.
  • Dealer/distributor satisfaction and retention.
  • Branch profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Timely collection and reduced outstanding dues.
