Billing Assistant

The Hospital Billing Executive is responsible for managing patient billing processes, preparing accurate invoices, handling insurance claims, and ensuring timely collection of payments. The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and good communication skills to coordinate with patients, doctors, insurance companies, and internal departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate and issue accurate bills for inpatients, outpatients, and emergency cases.
• Verify patient details, treatment records, and procedures before billing.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and departments to ensure accurate charge entry.
• Process insurance claims, follow up with insurance providers, and handle TPA (Third-Party Administrator) requirements.
• Collect payments (cash, card, online, insurance) and issue receipts.
• Maintain daily billing records, deposits, and reconciliation with accounts.
• Handle billing queries and resolve discrepancies in a professional manner.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, financial regulations, and audit requirements.
• Support in preparing monthly/quarterly billing and revenue reports.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in hospital billing/healthcare finance preferred (freshers with relevant background may be considered).
• Knowledge of hospital billing systems, insurance claims, and TPA processes.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and hospital management software (HMS).
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.

Work Environment

• Hospital front office, billing counter, or finance department.
• Requires interaction with patients, doctors, and insurance providers.
