Job Description

Job Title: Engineer Bid Management

Location: Bengaluru

Department: Bid Management

Reporting To: Head Bid Management

Duties & Responsibilities

  • RFQ Review & Analysis:

    Receive RFQs from Sales, thoroughly analyze requirements, and define customer expectations in coordination with Sales and the customer. VelvetJobs
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams:

    Work closely with Engineering, Sourcing, Finance, Operations, Sales, and other key departments to gather inputs and develop comprehensive quotes/proposals. Simplify Jobs
  • Proposal Preparation:

    Manage and prepare complete proposals, including technical, commercial, and pricing sections, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and internal standards. VelvetJobs
  • Competitive Analysis:

    Evaluate competitor offerings and perform pricing and value analysis to create competitive bid strategies. Betterteam
  • Resolve Pricing Discrepancies:

    Address and resolve pricing or costing inconsistencies with stakeholders to ensure accurate and profitable proposals. VelvetJobs
  • Documentation & Compliance:

    Document bid responses and maintain governance of bid documents, ensuring all deliverables meet internal and customer requirements. VelvetJobs
  • Stakeholder Communication:

    Maintain effective communication with all key stakeholders throughout the bid lifecycle. Betterteam
  • Progress Reporting:

    Provide regular updates on bid status, risks, deadlines, and outcomes to relevant internal stakeholders. VelvetJobs

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Educational Background:

    Preferably a diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical/industrial) or a related field. Indeed
  • Industry Experience:

    Experience in machining/manufacturing environments; familiarity with machining processes (materials, methods, secondary processes) is preferred.
  • Techno-Commercial Skills:

    Ability to balance technical understanding with commercial acumen for pricing, costing, and bid preparation. Betterteam
  • Aerospace & Defense Exposure:

    Experience in the Aerospace & Defense segment is a plus (preferred, not mandatory).
  • Communication Skills:

    Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal teams and external customers. Indeed
  • Interpersonal Skills:

    Strong teamwork, coordination, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Project Management:

    Ability to manage multiple RFQs/bids, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines effectively. VelvetJobs
