Role Overview
We are seeking experienced and highly skilled BESS Specialists to join our engineering team. The role focuses on conceptualization, design, simulation, and deployment of Battery Energy Storage Systems for utility-scale and hybrid renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in BESS design and hands-on experience integrating storage solutions with solar, wind, and microgrid systems.
Key Responsibilities
BESS Design & Engineering
-
Analyze project load profiles and develop customized BESS solutions to meet energy and power requirements.
Design and optimize battery storage systems for performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Perform system sizing and performance modeling using MATLAB, HOMER, or similar tools.
Develop and evaluate battery container layouts, coordinating with electrical, PV, and civil engineering teams for seamless integration.
System Architecture & Integration

Create Single-Line Diagrams (SLDs) and Three-Line Diagrams in compliance with relevant codes and standards.
Integrate Battery Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), and SCADA systems.
Demonstrate expertise in both AC-coupled and DC-coupled BESS architectures.
Advanced Applications & Technical Analysis

Apply BESS solutions for peak shifting, load leveling, frequency regulation, and power smoothening.
Conduct lifecycle analysis, evaluate battery chemistries, and assess system degradation impacts.
Simulate hybrid systems (Solar + Wind + BESS) and design microgrid energy mixes.
Project Execution & Support

Prepare technical specifications, scope of work (SoW), cost estimates, and as-built documentation.
Lead or support technical due diligence, vendor evaluations, and value engineering exercises to reduce LCOE and CAPEX.
Coordinate across multi-disciplinary teams to ensure design alignment and project execution success.
Preferred Candidate Profile

Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems or Renewable Energy specialization preferred).
Experience:
10+ years in BESS design, simulation, integration, and commissioning. Renewable energy systems (Solar PV, Wind, Energy Storage).

Strong understanding of battery chemistries (LFP, NMC, etc.), performance modeling, thermal design, and containerized systems.

Hands-on experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB, HOMER, PVSyst, DigSILENT.
Familiarity with national and international codes and grid integration standards.
Strong communication, documentation, and project coordination skills.
