Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Design Engineer to design, develop, and validate electronic systems for lithium battery packs used in UAVs, defence, and aerospace applications.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Development

Design Battery Management Systems (BMS) for lithium-ion and LiFePO4 battery packs Develop Protection Circuit Modules (PCM) with advanced safety features Create electronic schematics, PCB layouts, and component specifications Design charging systems and power distribution circuits Implement communication protocols (CAN, SMBus, I2C) for battery monitoring

Application-Specific Engineering

Develop battery solutions for UAV/drone flight systems Design ruggedized electronics for defence and aerospace environments Optimize power delivery for high-discharge applications Implement thermal management and safety systems Create custom firmware for battery monitoring and control

Testing & Validation

Conduct electrical testing, validation, and certification processes Perform EMC/EMI compliance testing for aerospace/defence standards Execute environmental testing (temperature, vibration, shock) Analyze failure modes and implement corrective measures Document test procedures and results

Collaboration & Support

Work closely with mechanical design team for integration Coordinate with customers for technical requirements and specifications Support manufacturing team with production optimization Provide technical documentation and training materials

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelors in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field 3-6 years of experience in battery electronics design Mandatory experience in UAV, Defence, and/or Aerospace segments

Technical Skills

Proficiency in BMS design and battery protection circuits Experience with power electronics and switching circuits Knowledge of lithium-ion battery chemistries and characteristics Expertise in PCB design tools (Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle) Programming skills in C/C++, Python for embedded systems Understanding of communication protocols (CAN, SMBus, Modbus)

Industry Knowledge

Familiarity with aerospace/defence quality standards (AS9100, MIL-STD) Knowledge of battery testing standards (IEC, UL, UN38.3) Understanding of EMC/EMI requirements for critical applications Experience with environmental testing and qualification processes

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with MATLAB/Simulink for battery modeling Knowledge of functional safety standards (ISO 26262) Certification in IPC standards for PCB design Experience with military/aerospace project management
