Barista

A barista's duties involve crafting coffee & specialty drinks, providing excellent customer service (greeting, taking orders, processing payments), maintaining a clean & organized workspace, operating espresso machines & other equipment, managing inventory, and adhering to health/safety standards, all while ensuring a positive, efficient experience, especially during busy times.   Core Responsibilities Beverage Preparation: Grinding beans, brewing coffee, pulling espresso shots, steaming milk, and making various hot & cold drinks (teas, specialty drinks) according to recipes.  Customer Service: Greeting customers, answering questions, taking orders (noting customizations), building rapport, and handling payments (cash/card).  Food Service: Preparing and serving food items like pastries, sandwiches, or snacks.  Equipment Operation: Using espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and POS systems.  Operational Duties Cleanliness: Keeping work areas, counters, equipment, and seating areas sanitized and tidy.  Inventory: Stocking supplies (beans, milk, cups, syrups) and monitoring levels to prevent shortages.  Opening/Closing: Setting up the cafe and performing end-of-day cleaning and inventory checks.  Quality Control: Ensuring drink consistency, equipment functionality, and adherence to health codes.  Key Skills & Qualities Technical: Hands-on experience with coffee equipment, knowledge of brewing.  Soft Skills: Excellent communication, friendly personality, attention to detail, multitasking, ability to work in a fast-paced team.  Learning: Willingness to learn new techniques, menu items, and customer preferences
