Job Description

Beverage Preparation: Making a wide range of coffee and tea drinks, including espresso-based beverages, latte art, and specialty drinks. Customer Service: Greeting customers, taking orders, and providing friendly and efficient service. Cash Handling: Processing payments (cash, credit cards, etc.). Workspace Maintenance: Maintaining a clean and organized work area, including cleaning equipment and tables. Inventory Management: Stocking supplies, such as coffee beans, milk, and syrups. Basic Food Preparation: In some cafes, baristas may also prepare basic food items like pastries, sandwiches, or muffins. Knowledge of Coffee and Tea: Understanding different types of coffee beans, brewing methods, and tea varieties. Skills and Qualities: Customer Service Skills: Being friendly, approachable, and able to handle customer inquiries and requests. Coffee and Beverage Knowledge: Understanding different coffee drinks, brewing techniques, and tea varieties. Efficiency and Speed: Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Cleanliness and Organization: Maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Communication Skills: Being able to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and coworkers. Cash Handling Skills: Accuracy and efficiency in handling cash and credit card transactions.
