SEO-first Outreach & Backlinking Specialist

100% focused on outreach, placements, and link acquisition

cold outreach, prospecting, qualifying sites, pitching value, and securing placements that move rankings


What You’ll Be Responsible For1. SEO-First Outreach Execution
  • Run 

    cold email outreach campaigns

     aimed at securing 

    contextual, dofollow backlinks

  • Pitch guest posts, niche edits, resource placements, expert commentary, and editorial inclusions
  • Customize outreach based on niche relevance, site intent, and SEO value

outreach ≠ blasting emails

2. Link Prospecting & Qualification
  • Identify and qualify 

    US-based websites, blogs, publishers, and niche resources

  • Evaluate prospects beyond DR/DA, including:
  • Organic traffic
  • Topical relevance
  • Spam signals
  • Existing outbound link profile

3. Journalist & Publisher Resource Building
  • Build and maintain 

    curated lists of journalists, editors, and contributor opportunities

  • Continuously identify platforms where we can:
  • Respond to journalist pitches
  • Provide industry data & statistics
  • Share authoritative client insights and expert opinions

SEO-led journalist outreach

4. Placement-Focused Link Building

Secure backlinks through:

  • Guest posting (niche-relevant, editorial quality)
  • Resource page placements
  • Niche edits (contextual & clean)
  • Expert quotes & commentary
  • Pitch-based editorial inclusions

Every placement must:

  • Be 

    contextual

  • Be 

    relevant to the client’s niche

  • Support 

    anchor text strategy & ranking goals

5. Collaboration with SEO & Content Teams
  • Align outreach with:
  • Keyword strategy
  • Anchor text distribution
  • Content themes
  • Suggest content angles that improve placement success
  • Ensure links are placed naturally within SEO-optimized content
6. Quality Control & Performance Tracking
  • Track:
  • Links acquired
  • Referring domains
  • Anchor text usage
  • Placement quality
  • Ensure all links are:
  • White-hat
  • Google-compliant
  • Free from PBNs, spam networks, or paid link footprints


Required Experience & Skill Set

This role is NOT entry-level.

We are looking for someone who already knows how to do this at a high level.

Must-Have
  • 2–4+ years of hands-on SEO outreach & backlinking experience

  • Proven experience working with 

    US-based SEO clients

  • Direct experience with 

    Legal SEO and/or Home Services SEO

  • Strong understanding of:
  • Anchor text strategy
  • Link velocity
  • Topical authority
  • Local SEO backlink profiles
  • Excellent cold outreach writing skills (value-driven, not templated spam)
  • Ability to independently prospect, pitch, and close placements


Tools You Should Be Comfortable With
  • SEO Tools:

     Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz
  • Outreach Tools:

     Pitchbox, BuzzStream, Mailshake, or similar
  • Research:

     Google search operators, SERP analysis, competitor backlink analysis
  • Tracking:

     Google Sheets, Google Search Console, Google Analytics


Nice-to-Have (Strong Advantage)
  • Experience placing links for:
  • Law firms (personal injury, immigration, corporate, family law)
  • HVAC, Roofing, Plumbing, Electrical companies
  • Experience building journalist response workflows
  • Ability to suggest 

    data-backed angles, stats, or expert commentary

  • Prior agency experience managing 

    multiple US SEO clients
