: Senior Backend Engineer – Cloud Native (Python) | Remote — India

About The Opportunity

We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to design and deliver highly available, secure, and performant backend services powering next-generation SaaS products. You will own critical service boundaries, API contracts, and cloud infrastructure automation to ensure services scale linearly with demand and meet strict SLAs.Role & Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable Python microservices and backend APIs using established frameworks and best practices.
• Build and operate containerized services with Docker and Kubernetes, including deployment manifests, autoscaling rules, and health checks.
• Author robust API contracts (REST/gRPC), versioning strategies, and integration patterns for internal and external consumers.
• Collaborate with platform and SRE teams to implement observability—metrics, distributed tracing, and alerting for reliability and performance tuning.
• Implement data persistence and caching strategies using relational databases and in-memory stores; optimize queries and schema for scale.
• Drive CI/CD automation, infrastructure-as-code practices, and code-quality standards to accelerate safe delivery and continuous improvement.
  

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• 4+ years of backend development experience with production Python services.
• Proven experience building RESTful APIs and gRPC services.
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI or similar Python web frameworks.
• Strong containerization and orchestration skills: Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience deploying and operating services on AWS (EKS, ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3).
• Practical knowledge of relational databases—PostgreSQL—and caching layers (Redis/memcached).
  

Preferred

• Experience with asynchronous programming (asyncio) and event-driven architectures.
• Familiarity with streaming platforms or message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform/CloudFormation) and observability tooling (Prometheus/Grafana).
