About The Role

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend microservices using Node.js and Java
• Build and manage serverless functions using AWS Lambda
• Integrate and configure AWS API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, and other AWS cloud services
• Implement caching strategies to improve performance and scalability
• Use Terraform and DevOps best practices to automate cloud infrastructure
• Configure CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitHub Actions and industry best practices
• Ensure system performance, security, reliability, and observability
• Write and maintain unit tests and participate in API testing
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design new features and improve existing systems
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions and documentation
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 4–5+ years of backend development experience in a professional environment
• Strong proficiency with JavaScript/Node.js and working knowledge of Java
• Hands-on experience with AWS serverless architecture (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, IAM, CloudWatch, S3)
• Infrastructure-as-code experience using Terraform
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows and GitHub Actions
• Strong unit testing experience (JavaScript testing frameworks such as Jest/Mocha)
• Performance-driven mindset and security-first engineering practices
• Good communication skills and ability to work in collaborative team environments
  

Nice to Have

• Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures
• Knowledge of caching technologies (e.g., Redis, CloudFront)
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and additional DevOps tooling
• Understanding of monitoring and logging practices in AWS environments
