About the Opportunity

Job Nexus India is listing a full-time Backend Engineer position on behalf of one of our hiring partners. This role is ideal for candidates with strong backend development experience and a solid foundation in data structures, algorithms, and scalable system design.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, optimise, and maintain backend systems using PHP Symfony (6.x).
Design and implement scalable REST APIs following best architecture practices.
Write clean, efficient backend logic with a strong focus on performance and problem-solving.
Work with MySQL for schema design, migrations, indexing, and query optimisation.
Implement authentication, authorisation, and secure access control mechanisms.
Integrate external APIs, third-party services, background jobs, and queue systems.
Collaborate with frontend, mobile, and product teams to deliver high-quality features.
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and system design sessions.

Requirements

Strong proficiency in PHP 8.x and the Symfony framework.
Excellent understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA).
Strong analytical skills and logical reasoning abilities.
Experience with MySQL, database schema design, and performance tuning.
Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and microservices concepts.
Strong knowledge of OOP, SOLID principles, service containers, and Doctrine ORM.
Familiarity with Git/GitHub and version control workflows.
