Job Description

Were Hiring Assistant Manager / Manager (Safety & Health)

global chemical manufacturing organization

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and ensure
adherence to safety manuals, procedures, and statutory requirements
(GPCB, DISH, PESO, GIDC, and other regulatory bodies).
Act as the
focal point for site EHS activities
, conducting safety audits, inspections, and hazard analysis studies.
Drive
emergency preparedness
including mock drills, coordination with external agencies (hospitals, fire stations), and rapid incident response.
Implement and monitor
corporate HSEQ minimum requirements
,
Life-Saving Rules (LSR)
, and
Careway assessments
.
Develop and maintain
site risk registers
, ensure knowledge management, and lead safety culture improvement initiatives.
Support
brownfield projects
with EHS expertise during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases.
Prepare and report EHS performance metrics, participate in corporate audits, and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
Full authority to
halt unsafe acts or non-compliant operations
to ensure protection of individuals, property, and the environment.

Candidate Profile:

Qualification:
B.E. in Engineering with
PDIS/ADIS
certification from a government-approved institute.
Recognized or pursuing
Health & Safety Management
certification.
810 years of experience in
chemical industry safety management
, preferably in high process safety hazard environments.
Strong knowledge of
emergency handling, legal compliances, process safety management
, and contractor safety management.
Field-oriented role (60% fieldwork, 40% office), requiring physical readiness to operate emergency equipment.
Fluent in
Gujarati, Hindi, and English
, with strong computer proficiency for safety reporting and coordination.
