Job Description

Role & responsibilities Provides commodity expertise through specific cost management, contract negotiations, development and enforcement develop cost management strategies and implement tactical changes where required. Develops and champions marketplace information for category responsibility, enabling continuous assessment of total cost structures and sourcing strategies. - Researches market intelligence for commodity price trends impacting category spend. Creates and maintains range strategies (pricing, sourcing, supplier risk) to support contingency planning and category vision. - Makes short- and long-term supply recommendations based on analysis. - Identifies and recommends forward purchasing, develops cost/supply breakdowns and tracking. - Develops risk mitigation strategies for key commodities for approval by Head Purchase. Leads supply base maintenance, identifies improvement opportunities, and recommends alternatives to ensure cost-effective and reliable supply. - Uses global templates to generate business intelligence reports on raw/packaging materials with updates on capacity, supply & regulatory needs. Leads win/win contract negotiations for cost reduction, process improvements, and innovation, ensuring timely completion and document renewal. Builds relationships with internal departments to improve interactions and support initiatives like new product launches and strategic projects. - Negotiates and reviews Lead Times & MOQs. Leads cost-saving and supplier performance projects. Implements systems and controls for budgeting and monitoring category and unit purchases. Drives cost improvements in sourcing (e.g., tactical buying). Vendor Management : - Evaluates and ranks vendors using a structured selection process and plant/factory visit reports to save costs and reduce risks. - Identifies vendors for new launches. - Engages in vendor negotiations for cost-effective sourcing. - Develops and manages vendor relationships. Preferred candidate profile 5-8 yrs of experience in procurement of Direct Material RM/PM Prior Experience of Price Negotiation in Dairy Products, Fruit Pulps shall be preferred Post Graduate MBA in Material Management/ SCM shall be preferred
