Job Description

Role Overview: You will be providing assistance and support to Morningstar's Legal operations in the Americas, EMEA, and India. Your main responsibilities will include project coordination, contract documentation, fact gathering, and research on matters related to procurement, employment, and real estate. This position will be based in Mumbai and report to the Senior Legal Counsel, Corporate Services for North America, with a matrix reporting line to the Senior Legal Counsel, Corporate Services for India. Please note that this role involves coordination and operational tasks and does not include providing legal advice. Key Responsibilities: - Provide routine legal advisory services on HR matters and deliver legal opinions on various legal issues. - Draft, review, and negotiate procurement, HR, IT, and finance contracts, incorporating necessary redlining and stakeholder feedback. - Collaborate with the global legal team to ensure timely closure of contractual requirements. - Conduct due diligence and provide legal research support as needed. - Advise on data privacy issues for the APJ region and coordinate with relevant stakeholders. - Maintain and organize all contract documentation systematically and update draft contracts for the APJ region. - Identify legal risks, propose viable solutions, and work closely with internal teams to foster effective collaboration. - Support investigations by coordinating with external counsel and providing timely legal input. Qualifications: - Minimum of 3 years of experience as a qualified lawyer, preferably with a reputable law firm or in-house legal department. - Comprehensive knowledge of contract law, with expertise in negotiation and drafting commercial agreements. - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines effectively. - Strong business acumen and the capability to offer practical legal advice aligned with organizational objectives.
